Band

The Band Program is an extra curricula activity offered to all students in Years 3 - 6.  We currently have 3 bands - Beginner Band, Concert Band and our Performing Band.

Children in Year 2, as well as interested students in older years are invited to attend a blow test usually in November, to learn about the band program and to try out the instruments.  Click on the Information Booklet to find out more about the band program.

At the Beginner Band Level the children receive small group tuition on their instrument with a specialist tutor as well as a full band rehersal with the conductor.  These are usually held immediately before or after school, at school and sometimes at lunch, depending on the availability of the tutors.

The Concert and Performing Bands have two full band rehearsals per week before and after school.  It is expected that students in these bands organise private or small group tuition once they leave the Beginner Band Program.

An extremely popular component of the program is Band Camp which is held on a Saturday and Sunday in May and helps students to come together as a band unit and improves their musical performances.
